In a world with brokenness, problems, and imperfections, how can we possibly talk about a God of love and grace? Many of us want to believe in grace, but the messy and often painful reality of our lives and the world we live in causes us to lose faith. Mosaic of Grace God's Beautiful Reshaping of Our Broken Lives helps us to truly know and understand this thing called grace. Confronting the truth of who we are (the good and the bad) and the truth of who God truly is, Mosaic of Grace helps us to understand God's transforming ability to make beauty emerge from any past. Mosaic of Grace invites us to take an honest look at God's divine grace so that our eyes can be opened to hope, transformation, and the ability of grace to put the hurting parts of our lives back together again.

Mosaic of Grace God Beautiful Reshaping of Our Broken Lives edition by James Prescott Religion Spirituality eBooks

Mosaic of Grace is a profound, yet approachable book about what it means to live in grace in an ordinary life. James's life, like my own, is lived out in moments of happiness and grief and in that life he shares with us the many facets of grace that God has revealed to him. In these pages, I have found a handbook for truly experiencing the grace of God in my own life. James says, "True grace can be violent. It can make us feel like we want to rip our hearts out...It leaves us no option but to be transformed." This made me question if I have really let the grace of God get into my deepest self, the one I try to hide from others. We all go through pain and heartache but these words gave me hope for going forward past the badness; "With hope we leave the past in its place. But we don't forget the past. We simply don't let that pain define our future."

Truly a remarkable book and a must read.

Mosaic of Grace God Beautiful Reshaping of Our Broken Lives edition by James Prescott Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews

James Prescott takes us on a journey that is searingly honest, deeply personal and enlightening. He reveals how God’s grace meets us right where we are—wounded, messed up, broken people—with loving mercy and forgiveness. But it doesn’t stop there, because grace pierces with laser-light precision, seeking to slowly, albeit painfully at times, transform us into the best version of ourselves.

You will see shards of your own broken life within these pages and come to appreciate the way to be glued back together again, because of God's grace and how he tenderly remakes us from the inside out. Our lives can become a beautiful mosaic, a thing of beauty others can see and marvel at. This is a profoundly moving account, beginning with brokenness and ending in hopefulness. I loved this book and highly recommend it. As you read the author's story, and those of others cited here, may you, too, be inspired to see how your life can become transformed for the better.
I’ll admit that before reading “Mosaic of Grace,” I had a fairly shallow understanding of what that last word really meant—nor can I recall having an inclination to pursue a deeper one. When I thought about it at all, “grace” was something I pictured rather as an umbrella extended by a friend, or an employer, or God, to cover me when the rain from my misguided actions inevitably fell.

But grace, to James Prescott, isn’t merely a benevolent shade. It is a force (occasionally with an edge!), a living entity that wraps around us and moves the broken pieces of our lives into place … if we allow it to.

Hence his particularly apt, and beautiful, analogy of a mosaic.

Writing from the trenches of his own life experience, James reminds us that not only is grace something that should be discussed and explained far more often, but an action word “Grace isn’t really what others say. It’s what people DO” (emphasis added).

And best of all, everyone is eligible to receive it.

Everyone.

What would our world look like if more of us understood and practiced the concept of grace? James wonders. I had only a momentary glimpse in my mind, but it was momentarily breathtaking. The mosaic of my own life, as well as that of others, took on a new, brighter glint.

I thank James for being so open about the vulnerabilities that led him to a deeper understanding of grace and its healing power. This book will do the same for you.
James as a speaker is authentic and kind - that translates well in his first book. Highly suggest a cozy chair and some time with this conversational book. It felt like a chat with a smart friend.
I really enjoyed James's presentation of his own work to understand the true meaning of grace. Not my favorite writing style, but an excellent and challenging presentation.I highly recommend it.
This book is not a sweet devotional type book of simple bedtime stories. It is the story of a true struggle of a person navigating life's curve balls and finding a person's true worth and value as a loved human being created and loved by a God to big to comprehend. James helps us see the pitfalls of not seeing ourselves as loved and so stumbling into unhealthy thoughts and then actions.
This book is readable and gives person much to think about as we each struggle to discover who we are and what grace from God really means
Grace is messy and each person’s worldview influences how they see it – is it what you say before you eat? Is it the smooth elegance of a dancer? Or is it the oil to the scratchy, squeaky days of our lives? James chose the oil – he understands that we all mess up and need something to help us get unstuck. He understands how grace helps form our mosaic of life and how the blood of Christ soaks through the edges blending and mending and reforming our image. It doesn’t matter if we have all our ‘stuff’ together or not – it’s that we’re in the repair process and that we are changing to someone better. It’s not a syrupy sweet book but one that is a good tool in your toolbox to help explain grace to others.
Mosaic of Grace isn’t just inspiring and thought-provoking—it’s a challenge for Christ followers everywhere. We are God’s fantastic creation, and His grace is limitless. James Prescott delivers strong punches too, calling out churches who are dishonest about God’s grace. I’ve always felt like I understood grace well, but with Prescott’s in-depth interpretation and explanation, I know it’s so much more than we could ever comprehend. This is a book for anyone struggling to believe they are worthy of God's grace. Five stars for Mosaic of Grace!
